It’s Tea Party Week!

Special Shows all week long. Featuring Tammy Buffington,
and the Grand Island Restoring America Rally.

Tea Party Week

April 15th is the dreaded Tax Day. Just like the previous two years there will be events taking place all across the country. I hope that you will be able to attend one of these events. Also Atlas Shrugged opens in theaters. Get out to a tea party event and then go see the movie! If you can’t make it out, join me all week long! To celebrate the week I’ve lined up some special shows.
Tammy Buffington – Republican Candidate for Lincoln Mayor
Thursday at 10 AM Tammy Buffington will be on the show. New leadership is needed in Lincoln. Tammy will stand up for the taxpayer, end the special deals with the unions, and eliminate the enormous debt facing the city of Lincoln. Tammy will tell us about herself and her plans for Lincoln. You can visit Tammy’s web site at votetammy2011.com.
Walk for Tammy – Saturday and Sunday
You can also help the campaign this weekend. Get out and talk to your neighbors and encourage them to vote for conservative candidates in Lincoln. Come out and support Tammy, along with city council candidates Melissa Hilty, Travis Nelson, Jon Camp and Chad Wright.
Join us from 1-4 pm on Saturday at Culver’s 70th & Pioneers or Sunday, 2-5 at same Culver’s. You’ll get a map and precinct list, drive to the area and begin to walk. It’s good exercise and really fun to meet people and talk up voting for conservative candidates. If they are WITH US but busy with life and kids, we offer them an application to vote at home. It’s easy and fun. Please make this weekend a priority for the future of Lincoln and the citizens.

Grand Island "Restoring America" Rally
This Friday I will be live at the Restoring America Rally in Grand Island. Last year I attended the Omaha Tea Party on April 15th. The Omaha event is always big (details on the 2011 event below) and well covered. So I decided this year I would do something different and give support to another area of the state.
The show will be live from Grand Island during the entire rally. That’s this Friday from 2 to 6 PM.
The rally in Grand Island is being put on by the Grand Island Tea Party/Minutemen. They have an amazing lineup of guest speakers.
Opening Prayer – Shannon Chesnut from Patriots For Christ
National Anthem – Brent Smoyer, Lancaster County Supervisor
Speakers:
Jeremy Jensen from Americans For Prosperity
Gregg Neuhaus
Pat Flynn
Grand Island Mayor Jay Vavricek
Glenn Freeman, Chairman of the National Council of Censors
Join me this Friday! You can listen live on my show page.
Omaha Tea Party
While I’m in Grand Island folks on the eastern side of the state will be gathering at Walnut Park. That’s at 152nd and Q Street in Omaha. The rally will take place 4 to 8 PM. They too have a great lineup planned.
Speakers:
State Senators Pirsch, Price, Janssen, Smith
John Seiler, State Board of Education
Several city and county officials
Jeremy Aspen, Mayor Suttle Recall Campaign
Scott Voorhees, 1110 KFAB Host
Keynote Speaker: Jim Manson, Nebraska Tea Party Patriots
Make it out to one of these events!
CIR Hearing

I also want to pass on information about an important hearing taking place on Wednesday. Senator Lathrop’s LB397 is a terrible bill that does nothing to truly reform the CIR. A hearing on the bill is taking place at the capital.

Legislative Hearing: Business and Labor Committee

Date: Wednesday, April 13, 2011

Place: State Capitol, Lincoln, NE

Room Location: Room 2102

Time: 12 PM

CIR reform is important and we’ve worked so hard for meaningful change. Don’t let this opportunity go to waste. Let’s make it to this hearing and let our leaders know that we want a better bill.

Please listen to this ad on the CIR by Americans For Prosperity.

Next Week:
As you can see this is a huge week for the Badger Den. There’s no slowing down though. Next week State Treasurer Don Stenberg joins me on Friday morning. Don is running for the Republican senate nomination to face Ben Nelson. It’s also Easter week and for those of faith, I have some special segments planned.

This Week’s Show Times:

Wednesday 4/15 9 AM – Daren Gardner Interview from the 100th Show Celebration (3/30). Daren talks about the Freedom Jamboree event taking place in Kansas City this fall.

Wednesday 4/15 9:30 AM – Dr. Bob Milliken Interview from the 100th Show Celebration (3/30). Dr. Bob will tell us about the Nebraska Christian College Christian Thought and Humanities program.
