It’s the Grand Opening of my web site! I’m glad that you’ve decided to check it out. The den is open!

You could say my brand of satire is a bit unique. I do take pride in my creativity! I enjoy that people…well, most people enjoy my work. I do this stuff with the knowing that some people will dislike me simply for my point of view. That’s ok. It’s not something I worry about or think about much. It’s great to be liked! I have plenty of close friends. But if standing for the truth means losing every last one – well that’s a tough road, but one I’d be willing to go down with the pedal to the floor.

The site is divided up into 7 categories.

The main page being Badger Notes. Just a place for my short general thoughts and news.

The second area is called Political Hacks. This is my speciality. The Hacks are a play on words – a political hack is someone who is partisan, sent out to do the dirty work, they walk the party line no matter what; also a term for cutting. My Hacks are sort of editorial cartoons. Most anyone today can use Photoshop to doctor a photo and make someone look goofy. I prefer the old fashioned way using scissors, tape and images mashed together. Call it Retro Photoshop!

The third category is AmeriCANS vs. AmeriCANTS. I think there’s only two types of Americans left. Those who can and those who can not. We’ve lost our sense of responsibility, that sense of rugged individualism, everyone is now a victim. Capitialism is defiled. The goverment moves towards socialism. Everyone makes excuses. Rather than bring everyone up we choose to tear everyone down – in the name of equality, diversity, justice and other hijacked words that have become plaititudes. It is here where I’ll profile examples of this. I hope to interview some people who have made it big, who said no to the detractors and steamrolled over any obstacle in their way…and all along said they could do it! Not the goverment or anyone else, but themselves. It’s a place to highlight the Average Joe and Jane that continue to make our country great.

The next issue that is big to me is what I call the INDOCTRInation. Whether it be arts, education, the media – today we are assaulted with what seems to be a slanted viewpoint. All too often it seems to be the politically correct viewpoint. I’m a champion of free speech, of information, expression. It is on this page where I’ll profile examples of bias and hypocrisy taking place across the nation.

The fifth category is called Non-Sense. About two years ago I said in a writing class that I wanted to give an updated spin on Thomas Paine’s “Common Sense”. But Glenn Beck beat me to it! But I figured I can still use the line of thinking with the web site. We always see ridiculous items in the news that are just plain ridiculous…seems like they usually involve goverment or politicians. I’ll share these stories and my thoughts about them under the Non-Sense page.

The Excerpts category will feature some previews of larger writing projects that I am working on. There’s currently a few book ideas I’ve been trying to get to paper for several years now.

The seventh and final category of the site is The Badger Den. Here I’ll post video and audio files of my thoughts. I hope to post interviews here. Possibly start having a weekly net show to share and have interaction with those who want to take part.

Enjoy the site! Thanks for being a part of it.

Best,
Brandon James Benson
