Do you know of someone who is doing wonderful things for others this year? Is there a special story out there that exemplifies the Christmas Spirit? We’d like to share these stories and recognizes these great people. Nominate them for the Golden George Awards! brandon@badgerbenson.com
The Golden George Awards are inspired by the character from the Christmas favorite, “It’s A Wonderful Life”. George Bailey was played by the great Jimmy Stewart. A heartwarming Christmas story. These stories aren’t dead! They are not fiction. They are taking place, still today, in our troubled times. So let’s take a look at some of the people helping that Christmas joy spread…this time of the year and all year around!
We’ll present the awards on our Christmas Day Special!
A sneak peak at what all we have lined up for next week! I hope you’ll join us….at some point after the relatives head home. We have Christmas Countdown IX on Monday. Christmas Countdown X on Christmas Eve! And finally our Christmas Day Special with the presentation of the Golden George Awards!
This week we start our series of holidays shows for 2010. We’re looking forward to this and hope that you’ll join us. We aim to take these next weeks and get away from politics and focus on this time of the year – The reason for the season. What we can be thankful for. The true story of Thanksgiving. The true story of Christmas. Along the way we’ll also have a lot of fun – exploring the secular aspects of the holidays that we all enjoy and love. Then we’ll close it all out over New Years week with a Year in Review and a New Years Eve celebration. Join us starting this Friday as we kick-off this special time of year!

Join me today at noon on BTR for the official announcement of our series of holiday specials!
Can believe it’s November 5th! Thanksgiving will be here fast! And Christmas is only 49 days away! Here at the Badger Den we’ve noticed how many people seem to already be in the mood this year. We think it has to do with the nature of the world right now. So we’re going to get away from all the crud for the next two months and devote time to this wonderful time of the year.
First we’ll do two or three shows about Thanksgiving, with replays on Thanksgiving and the day after.
Our Christmas Countdown Series will start on November 22nd and the second show on November 29th – with a new show every Monday and Tuesday leading up to Christmas. Christmas weekend will feature replays of the previous shows. Also with the Christmas Countdown Series we’ll be putting together condensed versions of the radio show for viewing on Youtube.
We’ll end everything with a New Years special.
With each of these we want to explore from the religious and humanities aspects – a sort of history lesson and exploring what makes them so special and the cultural implications today.
So join the Badger Den as we take a look at this special time of year. We’ll post an official schedule later today or this weekend.
