I’ve kept myself out of the news loop the past week. I keep hearing talk about some preacher in Florida wanting to burn crayons tomorrow.

What did Crayola ever do to him? Also what business is it of anyone else if he does burn crayons? Especially if the crayons are non-toxic…should be some colorful smoke. I do feel for the kids that want some crayons but might not get them because this guy burns a few boxes. It is back to school time you know, so in that regard it’s very insensitive.

But still here in America we’ve allowed burning of all sorts of things – bras, books, flags…athletes foot.

In short…the whole thing is just childish.

What nerve this guy has! He comes into our country, speaks at in our capital in front of our leaders and bashes the immigration policy of one of our states, and then does this interview admitting his own country treats illegal immigration far more seriously than what we do. Insane.

This is an excerpt from an article on Breitbart about some of the recent research going on in creating synthetic cells. This is crazy, scary stuff if you ask me. We really have no idea what we’re messing with.

ROME (AP) – Catholic Church officials said Friday the recent creation by researchers of the first synthetic cell can be a positive development if correctly used, but warned scientists that only God can create life.

Vatican and Italian church officials were mostly cautious in their first reaction to the announcement from the United States that researchers had produced a living cell powered by manmade DNA. They warned scientists of the ethical responsibility of scientific progress and said that the manner in which the innovation is applied in the future will be crucial.

"If it is used toward the good, to treat pathologies, we can only be positive" in our assessment, Monsignor Rino Fisichella, the Vatican’s top bioethics official, told state-run TV. "If it turns out not to be … useful to respect the dignity of the person, then our judgment would change."

"We look at science with great interest. But we think above all about the meaning that must be given to life," said Fisichella, who heads Vatican’s Pontifical Academy for Life. "We can only reach the conclusion that we need God, the origin of life."

Interesting short read about the displeasure of Obama’s performance expressed from the artist of the “Hope” poster. I find it very ironic and a bit humorous.

Found via Drudge. This is a great article about the non-sense surrounding the Mayan Calendar ending in 2012. Another great example of Non-Sense that people fill their time and energy with.
